Biodiesel – A Renewable Fuel


Biodiesel certainly is one of the few eco-friendly fuels available today. The reason is because it does not produce any form of carbon while burning, it is extremely safe to use. Though it does not cause pollution when being used, but the procedures that it goes through to producing Biodiesel does but fortunately that has been minimized in the recent years. The main process in extracting Biodiesel is known as Transesterification.

Transesterification process is the only method we have today to convert vegetable oil into bio fuel. Though several industries have started using Biodiesel for various purposes, but it has not been developed and produced in such quantity to replace petrol diesel. The reason is due to the cost in conversion. Reducing the expenses of production of vegetable and animal oil or fat can definitely result in better chances.

It will be interesting to see the progress of Biodiesel in the next few years.
